ABOUT THIS DRAWING

Build the House of God

Wrong Priorities and Wrong Perspectives

Incomplete Purity and Encouraging Promises

Haggai told the king, the priests, and the people to consider how they were living, especially their priorities and perspectives.
They had allowed the house of God to remain unfinished while giving attention to their own concerns. Haggai summoned them to prepare themselves and rebuild the temple, warning that they would not prosper while God’s house remained neglected.
The people listened to Haggai and obeyed the word of the Lord. As they began to change their ways and seek God, the Lord stirred their spirits, and they came together to work on His house.
The temple would be restored, and its future glory would be greater than what had come before.
God sent words of encouragement to the builders. He assured them that returning to Him, rebuilding the temple, and walking in obedience would bring blessing from that day forward.
Their economic hardships were not separate from their spiritual condition. As they corrected their priorities and renewed their obedience, God promised to care for them again.
He also declared that He would overthrow the thrones and power of the kingdoms that had opposed them.
The message of Haggai is clear: when God’s people put Him first, He restores their direction, strengthens their work, and renews His blessing.
“Build the house, and I will be glorified.”
